AFC Newbury Girls Football Under 12
Match Report -- Season 2004-5
PHYL Under 12 Girls 9th October 2004
AFC Newbury 10 Wolversdene B 1
The game had barely kicked off, when Ruby Oliver burst down the left wing, cut inside and put the home team ahead with a fine shot. Newbury’s lead was doubled when a poor kick from the keeper, left her stranded and Lucy Mortimer fired past her with some power into the top corner. Wolversdene did grab a goal back from a well taken, direct free kick, which deflected past the diving keeper. Newbury started to dominate with good football. Kellie Payne and Holly Robinson both scored when they got on the end of good moves, to increase the half time lead.

Newbury stepped up a gear second half and the goals came thick and fast. The one way traffic saw Lucy, Ruby and Holly each grab a second, all three finishing their chances well. Katie Saunders got on to the score sheet with a powerful long range effort, which the keeper could only stand and watch. Newbury’s player of the match Kellie Payne rounded off a good performance, with two good individual goals to complete her hat trick and send the home team to the top of the Premier Division.
