AFC Newbury Girls Football Under 12
Match Report -- Season 2004-5
PHYL Under 12 Girls 6th November 2004
Basingstoke Town Colts 1 AFC Newbury 4
The game was slow to get going with both teams having lots of possession but with neither team able to mount any serious attack. That changed when Holly saw a long range shot well saved by Basingstoke's keeper and the game then came alive. Holly did open the scoring minutes later when she saw her first effort saved but whilst still laying on the deck stretched out a leg and was able to tuck her second chance away. Lucy increased the lead when she dribbled through a crowded defence sent the keeper the wrong way with a clever left foot shot.

It was three just after the break when Holly again burst down the wing, drew the goalie and defence before squaring it, to give Charlotte a simple tap in. The home team grabbed one back with a good run which was finished with an even better shot which gave Honor no chance. Player of the match Holly scored her second with another solo effort ensuring Newbury all the points.
