AFC Newbury Girls Under 12 Football
Match Report -- Season 2004-5
Peter Houseman Youth League - Girls Under 12
23rd October 2004
Kingsclere 1 AFC Newbury 12

The visitors began well and from the off were passing the ball around and saw good chances either missed or saved. The home team continued to defend well throwing themselves in the way of all of Newbury's shots and when Ruby crossed from distance everyone was surprised when it sneaked into the goal to break the deadlock. The home team struck right back when a weak shot was fumbled for Kingsclere to equalise. Honor made up for this almost instantly when she struck a free kick from just inside their half which went like a thunder bolt nearly breaking the goal to restore the lead. This was quickly followed up by two goals from Lucy who finished off good moves to increase the lead to 4 by half time.

The floodgates opened and the score was added to in the second half when Kellie got on the end of a good cross and tapped home. Sophie grabbed a hat trick in record time with three very good individual goals to increase the lead further before Newbury player of the match Naomi ran on to a poor goal kick and fired home from distance with a sweet left foot drive. Katie beat two players before shooting into the roof of the net and the scoring was increased again when Ruby latched on the end of poor clearances to completed her hat trick with two simple tap ins from close range to complete the rout.
