Match Report -- Season 2004-5
Peter Houseman Youth League - Girls Under 12
15th January 2005
AFC Newbury 3 Wolversdene A 1
A thrilling top of the table clash, which saw the home team start the better, Newbury were first to everything, but failed to find the net with the chances they created.

Lucy changed all that minutes later when she picked the ball up on the half way line, skipped through two tackles and fired home from distance with the keeper only able to stand & watch. Minutes later it was Lucy again who picked up the ball on the edge of her own box and then ran the length of the pitch to cross for Kellie to volley home at the far post. Good team work saw the home team defend very well and just before the break they added a third when they broke with pace and it was Lucy again who crossed for Holly to score, beating the keeper to ball from close range.

The second half saw very little created by both teams as both defended very well. It was the visitors who pressed for an opening and got their rewards two minutes from time when a good solo run was finished off with style but it was no more than a consolation goal. The win took Newbury back to the top of the premier league.
